About ICF Nordic

The mission of the ICF Nordic is to build, support and preserve the integrity of the coaching profession in the Nordic countries. This means that the ICF Nordic is first and foremost the Nordic trade association for coaches. Through the ICF Nordic, coaches with different backgrounds and focus can come together to find and create support for growing themselves and their practice.

 

ICF Nordic's Mission.

  • We help build by educating and promoting the coaching profession in the Nordic countries. A common PR plan and referral services are key parts of this process.
  • We support by fostering the community aspect among members. We provide our members an environment of continuous learning and skill building so that they may offer their clients the highest possible quality of coaching. Conferences, workshops and telemeetings are examples of activities to make this happen.
  • We preserve the integrity of the coaching profession by actively working in researching and developing programs in the legal, regulatory and credentialing areas that will serve coaches and their clients.


What is ICF Nordic?

The ICF Nordic is a chapter of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the largest non-profit organization of coaches in the world. This opens connections with coaches everywhere and gives us opportunities to contribute to the global growth of coaching.

The ICF Nordic concentrates its work around the following main areas:
  • Creating a professional network for its members, including local
    chapters and telemeetings
  • Providing information to the members about the profession and its
    development trhough newsletters and the website
  • Supporting the professional development of the members through seminars,
    conferences etc
  • Protecting the integrity of the profession by means of certification,
    upholding ethics and more.
  • Support the marketing efforts of the members through providing marketing material and the ICF Nordic
    website.
  • Being the public voice for the profession
  • Growing the available market for all its members.

Global Network

ICF Nordic is the trade association for coaches and coaching in the Nordic countries. We are also part of the worldwide network of the ICF (International Coach Federation). Our association with the ICF gives us access to an enormous source of knowledge and experience. We can build our work on what has already been tried in other countries and benefit from their results, insights and materials.

The ICF describe themselves as follows:
  • The International Coach Federation is the professional association of personal and business coaches that seeks to preserve the integrity of coaching around the globe.
  • ICF is the largest non-profit professional association worldwide of personal and business coaches with more than 8000 members and 130 chapters in 34 countries. We exist to Build, Support and Preserve the Integrity of the Coaching Profession.
  • We help to Build by educating and promoting the coaching profession. Our Coach Referral Service and the PR plan are integral parts of this process.
  • We Support by fostering the community aspect among members. Our annual conference plus regular communications as well as the local chapters are our primary tools in this regard.
  • To Preserve the integrity of the coaching profession, we are actively involved in researching and developing programs in the legal, regulatory, and credentialling areas that will serve coaches and their clients.
  • ICF supports and fosters development of the coaching profession; has programs to maintain and upgrade the standards of the profession; conducts a certification program that is the gold standard for coaches worldwide; and conducts the world's premier conference and other educational events for coaches.
  • It is the immediate goal of the ICF to take our organization to the next level and become a strong (and unified) voice for the coaching profession and provide ever increasing value for its members.
