Coaching is still a fairly new profession. This means that the ICF has several particularly important tasks in this period. One is working to improve and insure the quality of coaching being offered. Our Definition of Coaching is one step in this direction, our Ethical Standards, required of all ICF Nordic members, is another. A third very important activity is our credentialing program for coaches. In this work we build on the important and groundbreaking work done by the ICF in settings standards and procedures for certification of coaches.

The purpose of the NCF/ICF Credentialing Program is:

  • Establish and administer minimum standards for credentialing professional coaches.
  • Assure the public that participating coaches meet or exceed these minimum standards.
  • Reinforce professional coaching as a distinct and self-regulating profession.

* The ICF credential is awarded to professional coaches who validate that they meet or exceed these minimum standards.

There are three levels of coach certification offered by the ICF, you can study them i greater detail in the following pages.

  1. The Associate Certified Coach (ACC)
  2. The Professional Certified Coach (PCC)
  3. The Master Certified Coach (MCC)

If you are a coach who would like to be certified, please study the requirements carefully and feel free to contact the ICF Nordic with any questions you may have at certification@icfnordic.org
